Today I found an old metal bee sting aerial off my old car and went to put it on my cupra. Am I being stupid or is there actually a way to get the aerial off? Can you only fold it down for putting through a car wash?

Thanks

think a good old fashioned yank should get it off.best check with a sane person first :p

I removed mine by holding the base once unscrewed and bending left to right at 45* angle then it should break off the anti theft bit and enable you to screw the new stubby one in.

as mentioned b4 a simple tug is all that is required to get it off.
it is "anti-theft" as there is a little nipple on the end of the thread that you have to pull past.

word of warning though-take it easy as you could end up making your car a convertable:p and these aftermarket aerials have a tendancy to make reception terrible.
