AGG Engine mount sheared off - Info please.

Took a turn, heard a bang.... bugger! Engine cut out.
Didn't have a clue what was going on as there was a hose that had popped off. I'm not very experienced when it comes to inspecting an engine bay so didn't know what this was........ My friend later noticed that my engine mount had sheared off... the one closest to the grille. Anyway... the car started so I tried to drive (this was before I knew the problem) and there was a loud clunking noise with every rotation of the wheels.

Does anyone have the slightest idea how much this will cost to repair and what the clunking may be?

Put a new engine mount in first, see what happens then. Shouldn't be too pricey.

Is this a difficult job? I thought the engine would have to be lifted out to fit the new mount?

You need to raise the engine slightly to get the mount in. But not a big nor expensive job.

a trolley jack under the engine might be enough to lift it, just depends!

Id go for a trolly jack and a bit of wood, and see if you can lift it enough
Get OEM mounts if you can, got patterned ones for my old polo and they were pap!

Not too hard to fix i had one go on my cordy, the banging is the engine rocking about as its not held in.
