Can anyone tell me which fuse is used for the airbag in the fuse box. The one to the right of the steering wheel.

You know the fuses to the side of the steering wheel. You have to have the drivers door open to access them.
There is one. It's number 3, 5 amp fuse
It's because my mot has ran out but didn't realise. I had a phone call of the local garage saying they sent me a letter to remind me it's due. then A phone call today to say it past so would you like a appointment today.
Thing is my airbag light is on. Wasn't bothered about it because I know it's because when my girlfriend drives it she moves the seat.
Thing is the car electrician I've just taken it to said there not able to just switch it off they have to go into it and find out why. Ok that's fine but Ive had it switched off by the lad before, now he's saying the computers not reading the computer, being it back for a proper look.

So when your seat gets moved, the airbags fail??
Not telling you what to do bud, it's your car, but personally I wouldn't turn a wheel in it till that's sorted, maybe I misunderstood your meaning there.

ive heard its fairly common. if the seats being moved from front to back a lot the wire connector under the seat can trip the light.

Yes we had a car that did the same,different people driving seat being moved back and fourth and the air bag light would stay on, had two new seat looms and a seat belt tensioner but the fault still came back shortly after.
Gave up in the end and wasn't part of the mot test then
The problem you may have is that the light won't illuminate for the 5 seconds and then go out, so they may fail it on that's just the same as if the light was permanently illuminated
You maybe lucky though and the mot tester won't realize the light didn't come on at all
if you get really stuck though, it is possibly to remove the seat airbag etc out of the system completely but keep all the rest working as they should
Probably best to try and fix it if you can though

i thought it was strange because its happened before so i took it to the same garage. The boss wasn't there so the lad said, slip me a tenner and i'll wipe the code's and hopefully it wont come back.
he told me it was the drivers seat and he's seen a few like it so from then on its been off for nearly a year until i let her drive it.

Where are these places people are taking their cars!?
It's a common issue. N199 and N200 drivers or passenger side airbag igniter faults. Theres even a technical bulletin on it. You remove the yellow block connectors and fit new, solid heat shrinks in order to remove possible resistance faults which occur when the connection in the yellow plugs is compromised. Usually when the seat is moved. It's a permanent, safe fix.
And sadly it'll now fail the MOT if the light is permanently on.
Also removing a fuse will probably do nothing as the fault memory will need resetting.

Very common problem on all the latest vag cars, always getting them in at work with the light on and nearly always "wasn't like that before the accident".
The fault lies with the connection under the carpet where the seat loom plugs into the car loom and I`ve been told that it can be cured by cleaning the connections and tweaking them to make a tighter connection although its not something I have done myself as yet. Ive also heard of people cutting off the plug and soldering the wires in to hard wire it so to speak, not something I would do, prefer a factory fix myself.
If you do go down the pulling the fuse route you will most likely find the light stays on as the clocks need a signal to extinguish the lamp rather than the ecu sending a signal to illuminate it, Even if you remove an airbag ecu the light remains lit for that reason.

the fix of cutting off the connector and soldering the wires together is a factory fix, its a VW technical bulletin to all VW garages. I've done it myself and its worked ever since.

So is it a case of going to a seat dealer to gt the repair or is there somewhere online I could buy them.
