Hi guys n gals!

right new to the forum so hello from south wales!

New to the Seat fold as im sick of ploughing monies into my old Mk5 1.9 vaux Astra.:censored: (pics will follow of the old dutch)

I invested in a 13 plate candy white 1.6 FR and i'm over the moon with it so far.

made a start this morn to get my cables through to the rear for a sub install.

run the switched live from the cig lighter port and the main power cable through the grommet that allows the bonnet pull cable to pass through the bulkhead.

to do this, I had to remove the glove box, disconnected the passenger air bag module and fully remove the glove box.

now all re-assembled I have the airbag light on..

I know the airbag connector plug has been refitted correctly as when I switch it off in the glove box, the "passenger air bag off" illuminates near the heater panel.

I dont have a diagnostic tool to check anything and want to avoid taking it back to the garage as its still under manufactures warranty and im afraid they will spank me and void my warranty.

sorry for the blah blah post guys if its a re-post..

any help would be greatly appreciated guys

Ash

can anyone confirm a way of resetting this light without taking it back to the main dealer guys?

and if i come clean and say i removed the glovebox to run cables through, will they laugh at my warranty?

I dont mind paying for my error (schoolboy error being that) but im reluctant to take it straight there asap before getting advise?!

You should of disconnected the battery before you stated to avoid the airbag light coming on and if you no anyone with VAG. Com they maybe able to find the error code and reset it

I had similar happen to me when removing the hazard light switch. After posting for help on the forum i was advised to reset the light using VAG com, i bought the cable and software off of eBay and even a newbie like me was able to reset the light. i paid less than 15 quid and now have a handy tool for the future.

Cheers for the reply and advice! Any chance you've a link for this vagcom pls bud?

Cheers for that bud, I got my local garage to hopefully sort it for me in the morning, he's gonna charge me 20bucks so for now I'll let him sort it for the sake of a few extra quid.

I may just invest in this tool for future tho if is going to be able to sort codes out for me..

Top man
