Air-con playing up

i dont know about anyone else but when it rains my windscreen steams up like nothin on earth...

air con clears it up pretty quick, just recently tho its been raining non stop for the last week when ive been going to drive the car so ive been using the a/c allot.

got in the car the other day and outside temp was reading -1degrees.. front window started to steam up so i turned the blowers onto the front.. normally this would put the climate control(auto) and the Air con on automatically.. my air con symbol didn't appear when i turned it the other day tho.. whenever i try and press it it only stays on whilst i press the button then goes off straight away..

it did smell a bit and could probably do with a re-charge and a clean out but would this stop the whole ac system from workin or is this gonna be a bigger fault?

Air con doesn't come on when the frost symbol is there. Reason is to stop the air con unit from freezing or something like that.

Mine did this the other day aswell, and I though WTF?!

Yeh the aircon doesnt come on when below 5 degrees so nothing to worry about mate its just too cold for it lol

The external temp sensor will be knecked, they cost about £18 to replace, and are a piece of piss to fit. try removing sensor and cleaning it up. they are positioned near rad so get covered in shite and water. sensor reads too low and air con will go safe and not engage. mines doing it. again.
