I have an intermittent problem with my seat leon 2.0 tsfi 190 the temperature on the dash takes a long time to get up to the right level but then goes 1 light beyond normal it never goes higher than that but when i turn the car off the radiator fan is running full speed for a minute but then slows to normal for a bit before stopping, i never get steam or coolant loss but it does trigger the the engine check light when i looked this up before I found a thread that recommended checking and cleaning the electrical connectors to the cooling system but this has not cured it any ideas please

reader just gives me 2181 cooling system performance, it did give me some other codes before i went through the wiring but they do not come up now

previous codes were
P26F500 coolant pump 'C' control circuit low
and
P011600 temperature sensor 1 circuit range/performance
but these do not come up lately
I am wondering if it could be the battery but it starts perfectly every time or do i just replace the temperature sensor 1 and see if that works

Check with a scanner what happens when you are warming up with regards to coolant temps. Also, do you see a dribble in the return hose on the coolant tank?

If the pump is working correctly, you should see coolant returning in the return hose
