Air Con Questions/V71 Flap?

Well I got my 6 dial cluster fixed and rewelded...yeppy!

I'm trying to fix my AC now.

I've had it back from the garage who have run a vag scan and have the following problems:

V71 air flow flap positioning motor - not working
V107 defrost flap positioning motor - not working
Compressor - not working

I can see the compressor is obviously leading to AC failure, but would V71 and V107 also affect the AC?

Anyone know where the V71 motor is? I gather the V07 is near the glovebox (just remove it and its on the right...apparently).

Just wondering if anyone's tackled these? Looking through the previous posts this is a common set of error messages...

Cheers!

check the loom under the battery that runs to starter and a/c compressor, mine had pulled apart there and it makes climatronic module go mad

My AC's not working, leaky discharge pipe so will wait for a cheap one of those around!
Flaps go crazy in mine, always changing and can hear them moving but settle down after about 10 minutes. Also randomly pumps in hot air briefly while you're requesting cold...

Spud, can you describe this loom in any more detail? what exactly came apart? as there's quite a few wires & gubbins under there.

Where did you get the 6 dial dash fixed from ?

Also how much did it cost?

Thanks

Does the climatronic screen flash all segments when you first turn the ignition?
All the AC system needs to work is enough pressure (so no flashing screen) and a working compressor/condenser fan :)
The only way the compressor would 'not work' is if the clutch no longer engages so surely this is what the error message means?
It's unlikely that all three of the faults are with the actual components and more likely a 'no signal' error, due to the wiring, echoing Spuds suggestion above.

Cheers Degenatron - i will take the battery out and have a look. I was hoping that the flaps don't affect the ac. They are a headache to get to apparently.

I took it to my local computer specialist. They repair motherboards etc. i am gutted i didnt take a photo but the soldering looks like its done with a machine. They are all perfectly conical and full.

Cost £50 to solder.

our cars have a clutchless compressor so the climatronic sends a pulsed live to the flap valve inside compressor which regualates gas flow.
on my own car the loom had been pulled apart as was very short and tdi engine moves a lot.
3 wires had been damaged the earth and both lives to the compressor
The fault i had was compressor + short to earth

Hey spud - just checked on the climatronic diagnostics and getting around 4.9V to the compressor. I would imagine I have a faulty compressor rather than broken leade? Did u get no voltage reading with urs?

I don't think that you should be concerned about the voltage, I've blundered on these facts before, maybe even on this forum, people seem to be expecting that any control voltage would be 12V but this is not correct it seems. Maybe use the search function and see what it turns up.

Agreed its a pulsed signal sent from climatronic to compressor But faulty compressor should give a fault in vcds a/c fault diagnosis.
Mine didnt flash But did nowt only Working as a normal fan, is the a/c fan on the radiator Working ?

Strange as I am not getting any errors in vcds regarding thr compressor.

Fan isn't coming on either. I just don't know how the garage concluded that the compressor is not working.

I'm guessing that you mean that VCDS is not reporting any HVAC faults other than the flap motor issues.
