Alarm problem!

Hi guys!

I have a problem with car alarm.
The car is seat ibiza 1.9 tdi sport [2001]
Today when i wanted to unlock the car with remote on the key, nothing happend!
I tried several times, but the car remained locked and the red led on the door continued to flash.
Because i was in hurry, i manualy unlocked the door, but that triggered the alarm horn.
Earlier, i was able to turn off the alarm by the turning key to ignition position, but not today!
Then i tried to pull the key out, and then back it in place and ignite the engine again, but the alarm sound remains.
I had no other choice than to drive car with alarm sound and blinkers turned on!
Later (after the exam :D), i have pulled out several fuses, and determined which one is responsible for horn. (fuse No#27)
Now only blinkers are flashing periodically, but there is no more horn sound, and i have to lock and unlock car manualy.

Can You please give me some advice how to solve my problem?
Thank You in advance!

i have just had pretty much the exact problem recently!

I disconnected the horn and pulled out the hazard lights fuse to drive the thing

Turned out to be a faulty fob, got myself a new'un, coded it in and everything was sorted :)

Try recoding your current fob first though.

@Mark
Thank you for the quick answer!
Can you, please, give me some detailed instructions how to re-code key?
I saw something on the net, but the instructions are not quite understandable.

1 - insert second key and ignite the engine
2 - wait for 5 seconds, and then turn off and pull key out
3 - press and hold unlock button, then three times press lock button, and release the buttons. Then after the light on remote blinked five times -
4 - press unlock button
5 - ignite the engine

Is the instructions right?

yeah pretty much

1. insert key, ignition on
2. ignition off within 5 secs
3. remove key, hold lock button down and press the unlock 3 times
4. remote LED should start flashing and the car should try locking/unlocking itself
5. insert key, igniton on.

Then try the remote locking.

mine flashed but the car didnt try locking/unlocking itself...

Hi mate, I've got a mk1 leon cupra and I had pretty much the same problem, I traced it back to a dodgy battery, turns out if your battery is flat or not holding charge it sets the alarm off if you unlock the car without the fob and start it.

alright . i had this problem with mine and it turned out to be a sticky ignition barrell. basically when u remove the key it still thinks the keys in. when u take ur key out does the radio stay on? if so u may need a new barrell
