Help!
I have a 52 plate alhambra 1.9tdi. Yesterday i got an ABS warning kight come on, the indicators have failed, the heated seats have failed and the air con has failed. Has anyone had this happen? Any advice would be well appreciated.

Don't quote me on this but from memory i used to get ABS light, or one other warning light up when the rear liight bulb blew. It might be worth checking that all you lights are working.

Sorry have no idea about heated seats but there are loads of threads about aircon, known problem.

Thanks for that. Now i thinkabout it,we do have a light warning come on when the car is started. I'll check and post back.

Hi sounds like a possible fuse problem. Normaly the coil light comes on to indicate brake light bulbs blown. some of the fuses are not all together so check your hand book or call me for more help Quote SEAT cupra.net

My Alhambra interior lights don't work - none of them! Checked fuses by drivers door but okay. Are there any other fuses?

Fuses

Hi

All fuses are behind the panel under the steering wheel....does radio and cigar lighter work. you may need to check you handbook it should point you in the right direction. hppe you find this illuminating

Exactly the same thing happened to me yesterday (20/03/10) I would be interested in hearing what the problem was.

Check the wiring between the door posts and doors, know failiure point on these cars as the wires are very thin and brittle and break easily, also check tailgate as well.

Been a while!

this electrical problem was eventually traced to the passenger heated seat element short circuiting. Took out everything listed above with it.

Hi all.

Got some electrical problem with my MK1 alahambra, so i thought ill check with you guys for some tips before i gett drastic.

Got the "bulb out" indicator for the rear lights. Checked the fault codes and got "Rear right light open or short to ground". Cleaned the bulbholder with no luck.
Measured the lamp feed - 3.1 ohms to ground (with the fuses out) so im guessing that there is a short to ground somwere, but where?
Is there some common place along the loom where it might fail? Im guessing checking the entire loom from light to fuse will be a big jobb. So im leaning towards installing a new cabel. Opinions?

Update: Took the trim apart and managed to roule out the part from the dash to the trunk, guess im taking a dive into that one tomorrow...

Haha... i suck... such a rookie misstake... cleared out the cabel so i started comparing the two sides, cabels - same resistance, fuse ok, holder nice, bulbs looks ok. So i laid the bulbholders beside one another and started checking the resistance on the pins... and there was a difference. It dawned on me that i hadnt checked the resistance of the bulbs and the one with dual filiments was broken, but looked ok. Well... this i will remember.
