Hi All,

This issue has been annoying me for quite some time but I never really thought about sticking it on here.

Just wondering if anyone has had issues with an Alpine KCE-400BT Bluetooth unit.

I have one with my IDA-x305, all is well when sat still, but it seems when moving that people cannot hear what I'm saying.

If you have one at all -- what do you make of it? Also where did you run the mic wire?

My mic is mounted on the top of the drivers side A pillar, then down inside it, underneath the steering wheel and through the centre console into the passenger side footwell where the control unit's located.

Oh -- the excess wire is coiled up in the A pillar, without this I seemed to get a lot of interference.

ANY help appreciated, it's driving me nuts having this and not being able to use it!!! :(

coiled up should have the opposite affect!
parrot recommend all mics are fitted centrally mounted as any vocals hit that corner where the a pillar is and bounce back, also if your window/door doesnt seal well then youll get alot of road noise

That's great, cheers, the manual with the Alpine didn't offer any mounting advice at all, just 'somewhere with no interference' haha.

The voice quality was still fairly dismal with it just plugged straight into the unit (worse than I thought, but it's audible) so it may be time to try another mic as well..

Thanks again :)

sounds like you dont have a very good quality mic there, even just try a basic replacement from a pc or such and see how well that goes just as a tester

That's what I'm now starting to think, sadly I can't just try another mic, it's not a standard 3.5mm jack with the Alpine, it's an annoying 2-pin plug :( -- Can't find any on the net by the looks of it so it may have to be bite the bullet time and try a spare from them.

Bit the bullet and ordered another (had previously suspected it as what I hear is absolutely fine - Just the other party not satisfied), if it doesn't work I'll sell the whole bloody lot!!

They wouldn't test it for me without proof of purchase, which I don't have because someone who works there bought it on my behalf!! Oh well, 24 quid *hopefully* well spent..
