Altea 2.0 TDi Timing belt intervals

Hi , Iv got a 56 plate Altea FR 2.0 TDi , Can anyone tell me when the timing belt should be done , its got 33k on the clock and alsowhat kind of oil semi syn or fully syn and what viscosity .

80,000 for the cambelt and VW 507 spec oil probably fully synthetic

Apparently the belt (and tensioner) should be done at 4 years or 80,000 miles.
The Oil should be 5W40 fully synthetic equivilant to VW spec 505.01, with DPF VW spec 507.00 (standard service), or to VW spec 5W30 5.6.01, with DPF 507.00 (longlife service).

so are people changing the cambelt at 4 yrs even with only 33K on the clock? 80000 miles seems a good interval, but 4 years seems very short? most cars are 5-6 years?

i inspect the cambelt at that sort of milage
most tdi cambelts i change at milage 80k
ive not had a belt fail on a tdi
and a couple of my customers have even gone up to 100k but not on my advice

the vw group advise it every 4 years so we change them every 4 years.

its almost impossible to judge the condition of a timing belt visually alone, one at 3/4/5 years old may appear to look ok but might break the next day, week, month etc then again they might last 100k or 10 years but personally is it worth the risk of a possible repair thats worth more than the cars value for the sake of a couple of £100 quid?

its not a money making scheme just a case of preventing the above scenario.
