I have recently brought a Seat Altea 1.6 petrol and have had problems starting it since. It is a weird problem because after being left overnight it 80% of the time starts correctly but if for example I went out somewhere and left it for a few hours I would have to turn it over for a while and rev it before it did start and most of the time this is on the second attempt. Car starts fine when warm, and I have recently had the temperature sensor replaced as I was told it could be that, but it isn't. Am I starting it incorrectly? or is there a problem with it?

Hi, welcome to the foum :)

First question: Did you buy it privately or through a trader?

If the later, I'd be taking it back and asking them to fix the problem if you bought it only recently.

Not very familiar with the new 1.6 engine in the Altea, but I would say you've made a good start with the Temp sensor.... Not really sure where to go next....

Anyone else got any thoughts?

Hi, thanks

I brought the car privately, and am also stuck at where to go next, so annoying that I can't figure out what it is... ????
