Alternator ~ 70A or 90A?

Hi,
I currently have a 90A alternator with a broken pulley and shaft on a Cordoba 1.9 TDi.
I have a replacement alternator supposedly from an Sdi, that is only 70A, and according to my searches fits a D/TD rather than a TD/TDi.
Will it work?

I wouldn't fit a lower spec Alternator, that's asking for trouble.
