Seem to be getting alot of rattling when driving. It only happens when driving on un even surface. but on hardly at all when goin over humps or turning left or right.
Had a look at the shock springs, they seem to be fine. gave the front wheel some thug and they seem to be firm,

Hi

You will probably find that it is the drop links on the front suspension ( short bar with knuckle joint either end ). They make a rattling noise when they start to go. It's an easy/cheap 20 minute fix to an annoying rattle that could drive you mad.

changed mine yesterday - feels like a different car - well sounds like a different car at least ...

Did mines a few days ago, massive imporvment. (P.s didnt knew how heavy the car was when it was jacked, the jack made big wheel marks in the tar mack. )

Hi all.

I'm getting this strange noises from my front left (suspension I guess).
One noise is more like something is loose and rattling when I drive through bumps. The other noise is more a metal to metal grinding and this happens when I driving and turning so that left side is loaded, the sound wont appear when there is flat road, only when there is bumps (small even) and turning. Speed doesn't affect it either when it appears during both low and normal speed. Could both this sounds be generated by a failing linkrod?

In addition the second noise can appear without turning if one drives on a bump. It seems to be connected to the suspension moments. It can sometimes also be generated if one by hand rock the car when it is standing still.

Another update may be in order now that I have removed the left front wheel and discovered the following. It seems that the lower gaiter on the link rod has failed. My theory is that this have in turn made the ball joint to fail to the point that the stabiliser rod and link rod can move and rattle. The fact that one can see grinding marks that fits the position of the bolt from the link rods lower bolt in the wheel bays inner wall I think supports that, and explains the different sounds. Two new rods ordered.
