I've been wondering this too. I'm very interested in trying to get my inlet manifold powder coated but have no idea as to where to start with finding the people to do it...

You don't want to anodise cast items really, as the surface rarely comes up nicely.

Machined stuff looks nice though....

No, ive bought this manifold and cover, but not bought the Charge Pipe, which means i shall shortly be selling my Mani and Cover for anyone else that wants to do the same.

If you go for powdercoating, make sure you ask them what pretreatment they're using - if they don't properly treat the surface to clean it then the powder will start to flake off when knocked or chipped, and a number of places don't pretreat.

Also bear in mind that powdercoating (unless it's a heavily textured or hammerite-type finish) is usually less than 50 microns thick and it's a single-coat process, unlike wet painting, so it won't necessarily cover any marks or textured surface on the metal. If you want a mirror-perfect finish it'll still need flatting and polishing after coating, like wet paint would, and most powdercoaters probably won't offer this service.

At work, we've got 4 different powder coating firms that we use and they're all ****.

like MarkE says some firms dont prep it like they should and the quality is non exsistant - breath on it and it flakes off......
