Hi guys,

I've been lurking the forum for a few months since I decided to look into buying a Mk1 Leon Cupra. Finally last Thursday a lovely example cropped up within a reasonable driving distance, in the colour that I wanted and at a low mileage so I went to look at it and fell in love with it straight away.

So I ended up buying it and had a lot of fun on the drive back home :D
My car history has mainly been VW based. I've owned a Mk3, Mk4 & Mk5 Polo. The Mk3 was by far the most fun and was the one I did the most modifying on.
Here it is:
Can't post pics yet

I've never owned a turbo'd car before, so am pretty new to the mechanics of it all, but there seems to be loads of good info on here, so I'm sure I'll be able to find anything I need to know.

So back to the Cupra. It's Platinum Grey and has 65k on the clock so I'm going to book it in for the cambelt/water pump doing at JBS in Chesterfield and whilst it's there it'll be going on the rolling road to see what it's pushing out, as apparently a previous owner has had it remapped, but there's no paperwork to say who by or to prove what BHP it's at. They reckon 200BHP, but I'll soon know for sure. It's got a nice Milltek Cat back exhaust and apart from that it's pretty much standard. The door seals haven't gone yet, so it looks like I've got that to look forward to at some point
I've just put some Uniroyal Rainsport 3s on the front as there was only about 0.5mm of tread left before the limit. Heard good things about these tyres so hopefully they live up to their reputation. Unfortunately the garage must have used a gun and put the bolts back in too tight, so on the drive back the brakes were juddering. A quick removal and re-tighten seems to have cured that though.
Because of the poor unpredictable weather I've only been able to wash it and not polish it yet, so I've not got any good pictures, but here's one I took at the weekend when I went to visit my cousin, who also has a Cupra at the moment too :funk:
It's only off my phone so not amazing quality, but you get the jist:
Can't post pics yet

I guess I'll update this thread when I can eventually post pictures

I seem to have written a bit of an essay, so I'll shut up now ;)
