Hi Guys,
Sorry to raise this subject again. I have done searches and have done a fair bit of research but just wanted some real life experience feedback.
My standard clutch has finally started slipping (at 140K - not bad me thinks). I need to replace the clutch but have been toying with the idea of remapping at some point (maybe not wise at 140k miles but there is no value left in the car so I have decided to just run it till it dies- so why not have some fun in the process).
Im not going to go mad (if I get round to mapping it) so will probably just go for a modest increase around the 200bhp region and plenty more Torque.
Research has suggested that a standard clutch will probably suffice at that, but having the need to go to the expense of changing the clutch anyway, then I'm thinking that I should really upgrade to be sure any map will be ok.
As I see it my 2 main options are either a Sachs SRE performance clutch from darkside developments for £730 +Vat inc DMF (I dont want to go SMF as Im not going to go for massive power and want a daily driver smoothness).
or awesomeGTI for £548 inc vat for cluch + DMF from elsewhere circa £250 total around £800 total
or I am very interested in the CG motorsport dual friction clutch kit for £565 inc vat and including DMF!!!!
Has anyone run the CG motorsport kit and how does it rate? I believe the dual friction kit will give a little judder at low revs in 1st and reverse but the dual friction is recommended for the higher torque delivery of the Diesel.
As I say I know I could get away with a standard clutch but I only want to change it once so may as well up rate at the same time but want to keep the DMF (replace with new).
Thanks for any thoughts.
