Hello

I am thinking of returning to SEAT ownership after not having one for a few years - I'm interested in the 1.4 FR in particular - the prospect of reasonable performance and running costs appeals to me !

Anyone had any experiences of one ? Anything I should look out for ? I was hoping mpg might me mid 30's running around and then low 40's on a long run - is this realistic ?

thanks

Hi

I have a tsi 1.4 in sport trim. Same car different bumpers :)

Mpg wise you've underestimated a little. Usually high 30s if going it here there and everywhere around town/busy areas with plenty of stops between.

Long journeys 50+ mpg is not unusual and 60+ is becoming more often for me.

Look out for lumpy/loud COLD start-up on the tsi and any overly loud turbo or engine noises. Sometimes consumes oil so check that.

And as with all leons, uneven tyre wear and leaky bonnet are common so could be a bargaining tool.

Generally they are spot on and don't really get the praise they deserve!
