Hi All
Been looking for Leon ST FR 150 on a 16 or 17 plate for a while Really wanted a manual but just wondering if anyone has experience of any problems with DSG boxes and also how performance and economy compare to manual.
TIA

John

I have the 7 speed dsg with the 1.2tsi engine, very smooth auto. Not had the car long, had no issues so far & I'm averaging 50mpg. can't compare it to a manual, as this is my first Seat & dsg auto, but I'd rather have a DSG box, than a manual. As I'm a lazy driver.

I initially wanted the manual, but one drive of the DSG changed my mind. The manual doesn't fart, and in a sprint, or through the twisties, the manual really can't stay with the DSG in manual mode.
Just don't drive it like a torque convertor auto and it'll be reliable.

Doesnt fart?? Ive never driven an auto of any sort, altho I now the mechanical difference between torque converter and DSG I wouldnt know the difference in driving style. Maybe I'll see about having a test drive in a DSG , never know I might be a convert!

No, manuals are non flatulent. And it's great fun timing an upshift so it farts as you are passing another car.
The thing that was killing DSG's down here was drivers allowing the cars to creep at idle revs for long periods and/or holding the cars on a hill with throttle.
