So long story short cars been in a minor bump and I convinced the body shop to change the nearside headlamp as it was scuffed from the bump. Body shop have installed a brand new genuine face-lift bixenon lamp. Problem is when they returned the car to me on my way home from work I noticed that the nearside beam pattern has dropped and is pointing at the floor and the shutter for the flash isn't working.

So car went back in and they "fixed" the problem apparently a trapped wire. When they dropped the car off at my work I checked it over and even though the nearside bulb was as bright as the drivers one you could see the shutter working on full beam and the level was spot on. Parked car up and several hours later drive home and all of a sudden beam patter on nearside drops to the floor and main beam on the nearside lamp doesn't work any more.

Rang to complain and got the impression that they're trying to blame me or aren't that bothered as it left their garage working.

Any one got any ideas?

Surely as its a brand new genuine item it is covered by the SEAT Two year parts gaurantee? Just take it back, up to them to fix the issue.

Was it done through your insurance? If so get onto them and they can assist.

I had many issues a few years ago on an Audi A4 which had repairs through insurance, their repair was poor and my insurance company at the time Admiral were great on putting pressure on them and told me to keep rejecting it if I wasn't happy. They gave them three opportunities to repair it properly or I could take it elsewhere. It took about 6 weeks and three opportunities but they got there in the end.

I agree. Notify them as soon as you find any issues and get them to complete the work to the required standard. The longer you leave it the more chance they'll blame it on something you've done in the mean time.

I had similar issues with a bad bodyshop when my old Ibiza got hit, I called the insurance company, explained the situation and they took care of it. That said, with their help it still went back 3 times! Assessors condemned their work and took them off the "approved" list, VW Group pulled their approvals a few months later and I got £250 compensation.

Anyway back to your Exeo issue, I saved a link a few years ago from a Spanish forum when I was looking for a car to buy. Unfortunately the translation screws it up a bit but I seem to recall there being images of wires being swapped in the headlight connector. If that is the case, I'm afraid your insurance will consider it "betterment" and won't cover the costs. If you know anyone that speaks Spanish, they should be able to confirm if you show them this link: http://mofler.com/forum/topic/12409...os-ledactualizado-puente-y-diodos-en-el-faro/

Good luck!
