Anyone else finding "Rear Traffic Alert" useless and too intrusive?

People who have Blind Spot Recognition (or Side Assist, they are different names for the same feature) in their VAG cars also have this "Rear Traffic Alert" thing. It is supposed to assist when reversing onto a road out of a parking space or situations like that. It may be helpful with cross-traffic but it also beeps crazily at the traffic coming from the rear (and possibly brakes hard) while you are making a manoeuvre on the side of a road, without creating a hazardous situation for anyone or for yourself. I had retrofitted Side Assist in my previous car, an '18 Leon FR and I didn't like that RTA thing but I thought "we might have missed some settings, this shouldn't work like this". Now it is the same on my new Ateca with the feature installed in the factory. I just gave up and turned it off.

Change Dataset, in my Leon is the Dataset from Audi A1 and IT works great for me

Should any opportunity arose, I prefer to see it in action, by myself, just to be sure that it would work great for me too. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother to waste my time with datasets or stuff.

Yes. So far, 5 false positives, 2 of them I can reproduce on demand, resulting in the brake pedal being sucked away from underneath my foot.
But equally, on 1 occasion, traffic in front of me stopped moving and thanks to the sound and "red alert", I instinctively kicked the brake and it proved to be the right positive alert. (The car in front could not stop on time and had to ditch of the road, to avoid collision with standing traffic)

I've modified my use of the cruise control and adapted my distances in order to minimise false positives and unjustified emergency braking
