Guys,

Been sufferig a loss of boost at about 3.5k in the revs and Ive previously described it as a shuddering and then the power comes back.

A few helpful suggestions have been made and after having the LC Mk2 on the laptop it through up 2 faults one being coilpack 3.

This has now been replaced and after doing this the codes where deleted and off i went for a test run.

unfortunately shes still doing it and still displaying the following code

P3019/004 - NO SIGNAL COMMUNICATIONS, - VALVE EHAUST FLAP 012313 - OPEN CIRCUIT.

The issue is the leons dont have this exhuast flap?? the mech who is a VW specialist has put her up on the ramp and cant se anything and he's flumuxed!

I've looked on google and the code is common on the R32 golfs in reference fitting Millys but my LC is running a standard exhuast?

Anyone shed any light on the code or experianced the same thing? and shake in the revs??

Cheers

Jim

Sounds like plugs to me. If you have vag com plug it in and take the car out logging the cylinder misfires for all 4 cylinders. Use the function to save to a csv file so you can open it in excel later.

If it shows a fault on a cylinder, swap the plug with another cylinder and see if the fault moves with the plug.

As for the fault code I can't help there.

Hey Jim, iv had the same fault code on my k1 for 11 months now. I first noticed the code a few weeks after it was mapped at P-torque, however the car still runs fine and i have no shuddering to report of. I had seat look at the fault code when it was serviced earlier in the year and they said it may be down to the car being mapped, but wont make any difference to the running of the car. I was told it would be about £112 to replace the valve, but there was no guarantee it would fix the problem so iv left it. As for coils and plugs i had the all changed last months and that wont cure the fault code

With regard to gregs comment above, I agree i dont think plugs are related to your fault code.
But I think the shuddering at 3.5k revs is a seperate mechanical fault, which is why I suggested the checking of the misfires. Dont rule out plugs yet.
My car had only done 18k miles and the plugs failed. and the misfires didn't bring up a fault code but the car clearly stuttered around 3.5 - 4k revs.

Cheers lee.

Cheers Guys,

I've gotta speak to the Vag specialist I use, its certainly interesting that the P torque remap has thrown up that fualt code on another and its not effecting the performance.

Next step as suggested is the plugs, from there who knows, fingers crossed its only that.

I'll keep you informed.

Just a thought have you tried an obd fault code log on the obd port ? I work for Texa , go on fleebay n search Texa obd log , they cost around 100 and can be used on any pc , it logs 90 hrs of data and will save faults when they occur with engine related faults
