In return for some beer tokens, does anyone in SE London have a vagcom that they could check my PD140 with?

It's gone into limp mode twice today. Drives ok, but when I try and accelerate it doesn't.

No warning lights on the dash, and clears after restarting the engine.

Thanks
Dan

OK bad to worse. Had to pop out for a quick couple of jobs that needed down, and now the engine management light has appeared. in a 30 mile trip I've used quarter of a tank of juice.

Off to AMD tomorrow to see what the issue is unless someone can help this evening.

Thanks
Dan

I'm not really 'local' to SE London else I'd offer - and if you've used that much fuel in such a short time that's a concern

Are you smoking at all? check under the bonnet around the fuel lines to check they're not misting

Got some large smoke plooms when I was driving, but used to that being an oil burner.

What do you mean by 'misting' on the fuel lines?

Thanks
Dan

If id seen this earlier I would have scanned it for you! Hope its nothing serious and AMD sort it easily

Cheers guys. Sadly a couple of things appeared in the logs.

1, Intermittent cruise control error, which I'm not that fussed about.
2, Turbo over boosting. It appears like a common fault is attacking the turbo. The housing is not twisting properly so the veins are not controlling the boost properly.

Now this one is an issue, prices from David at Sere's came in at £795 for a Seat recon unit with a warranty then I'll have gaskets and labour on top. The price was about the same from the ever helpful guys at AMD, cheers to Shaun for checking the car over so quickly.

Now I'm thinking instead of a normal replacement do I go hybrid and fit a stage 2 upgrade or just replace it and leave it? I know that if I go for the stage 2 I'd also be looking at a new I/C and removing that pesky cat thing. ;)

Choices choices....

PS. On my way home the tyre pressure light came on, so stopped at the garage and checked the pressures, all set to 32psi and no nails visible.

could get you a price for a hybrid from loba motorsport!

Poverty, thanks. Just still wondering if I want to replace/upgrade the turbo or do the nasty and trade it in. ;)

Also trying to work out what else would need 'upgrading' if I went hybrid.
