Hi All,

I was looking to upgrade my sidelights and dipped lights in my Ibiza. I have read some posts on here when people were having problems with LED lights and so on, and I dont think I could live with a light on the dash being lite all the time! :D

Correct me if im wrong here people but I believe that there is 4 sidelight bulbs required in total so i was wondering if i purchased 2 LED and 2 W5W normal bulbs would this be ok?

And gonna get some H7 also, anyone got any of the below, commets?

Cheers guys.

IIRC you wont get the bulb light if you use CANBUS bulbs for the 2 inner sidelights. May be wrong though!

It has been covered many times before so i think if you searched SCN a few thread should come up.

Think SC16v (Now VRSLOZ) covered this in his Readers ride for his Ibiza.

CANBUS LEDs are LEDs that have resistors and stuff built in to them, the idea is that with the resistors they will draw a similar level of current as the existing bulbs, meaning the bulb failure light in the dash won't come on. The problem is on the Ibiza they don't work, the bulb warning light will come on regardless.

So as long as you use Ultra bulbs in the outer two side lights you can use LEDs in the inner, and as far as im aware they dont need to be can-bus because the inner lights aren't liken to the bulb failure system at all.

Cheers for clearing this up, much appreciated! :)

I got Philips Xtreme Vision +100% for the dipped and main beams at first. They gave good light, but they were just too yellow for me. Replaced them and the fog lights (HB4) with Philips Crystal Vision (rated 4300 K) and now i'm happy with the way my lights look.

I also have can bus leds for the inner sidelights and a pair of Philips W5W (came as a gift with the Crystal Visions) for the outer. All lights look white.

If I could be a pain dude do you have any pictures of your canbus LED side lights along with your Philips W5W bulbs just to see what it looks like?

Would appreciate it :)

I have the Nightbreakers, got them for only £14.95 too from a local shop. Pretty good.
I wouldnt pay the price that the website is asking for them, you can get them from eBay pretty cheap so I think ill be going for the nightbreakers also!
