I've currently got 6x9's in a diy parcel shelf, and they need changing. I'm thinking of putting the standard parcel shelf back in and changing the standard 6x4 speakers for better ones.

Has anyone done this? which ones did you use and whats the sound like?

cheers, Jim

As above, only way to go as far as I'm concerned is 6x9's in a properly weighty stealth shelf. ...except I then fitted a blueflame exhaust and now can't hear jack' ;-)

Before I did this I replaced my 6x4's with some proper ones, and they were cack still. Too small, badly positioned, just not up to it in my humble opinion. and that of my ears.

bit off topic here, but has anyone ever installed the uprated speakers and Bose setup from the like of the higher spec audi's?

I don't see how they'd fit. and I don't think they're quite as good as well matched aftermarket stuff anyway. to my slightly ragged ears.

sounds like I'm probably best to get some new 6x9's then. It would just be nice not to have a permanently screwed down parcel shelf for a change!

cheers.
