I run them and had no problems. Superb for the money and hard fast road use :)

Decent around town and not crashy too.

Highly recommend as others have done so.

Yeah I had noticed they are from the same supplier.

I think it's time to see if there's anyone local willing to take me for a run one evening.

Thanks for everyones opinions and inputs :)

Anyone else got opinions?

Mate - for the money you can get no better coilovers than AP's or Weitec's.

If you want to push the car harder, i.e on track and get the absolute maximum out of the chassis, then get KW's. But you'll know these are going to set you back double and more than the other 2. All comes down to what's your budget and what you mainly use the car for.

I'd be happy to throw my car around Brands Hatch with the AP's though :)

JOM coilovers and FK's aren't far off the price of AP's and Weitec's but from what I hear regularly, they are what you call 'entry level' coilovers and pretty poor.

Yeah I'm staying away from the 'cheaper budget' coilovers as I've seen so many horror stories online and with mates to waste my money however AP and Weitec both seem good value with reliablitiy and the ability to take the occasional 'hard blast'

Had AP's on mine and didn't rate them at all. Far too harsh on rebound. Smooth roads were perfect. Bumpy roads would have me literally out of my seat . I ran them at 35mm drop all round. Not sure I'd get another set of coilovers again on a road car. Should have got a nice Weitec spring and shock setup.

I don't find this at all. Surprising.. And my bushes are in a bad state. Maybe I'll find it alot stiffer once I've had the complete superpro bush kit fitted in the next couple of months.

the bushes make a masssssssssssssssssssive difference... my car compared to sams isnt much different, ihave poly bushes but no aps, he has polys and aps....
when i get some cash in the new year im goign weitec

I can't wait to get my full polybushes done, front ARB and front strut brace - should be close to being on rails.

My AP's will stay.

 thats interesting, I've been down cobled roads with the Weitecs on and found the ride fine. I had Spax shocks and springs on my 106gti and found the Weitecs a lot more comfortable then them.

The bushes on my car were less than 10K old. Same as the top mounts but I had them replaced anyway and also the new ball joints and track rod ends were fitted after a couple of years. I ran the AP's for about 10K and noted no difference from day one. I had arbs and braces both front and back. The only thing I probably didn't have was a complete polly bush set but I doubt this would have made that much difference.

No offence here but I'm 25 am I younger than you? May well be that I can tolerate more bumps and stuff on the road?

I really don't find them bad at all

LOL I'm 32 mate. It's not little bumps when I'm out of the seat. I'm also 15 1/2 stone so not exactly light. The rebound was very harsh. I'm not talking cobles or potholes I was talking more about crests and waves in the road. The suspension tied itself in knots over a certain section of road. It would compress then rebound far too violently. I may have had a duff set but then again I was also running ET45 wheels on 20mm spacers all round. I have no idea if the altered geometry had a dramatic effect or not.

Nice to see some mixed responces.

Every product is going to have good and bad views and it was the purpose of this thread so you can make your mind up :)
