AP coilovers

Im sure you lot are sick of the same type of threads popping up, but I couldn't find what I'm looking for in a search, so anyway...

I'm thinking about buying AP coilovers for my MK4 and from what I've gathered, they don't come with helper springs, but use a progressive spring on the front coilovers.

My question is, if they were set to a pretty low height, would the the spring be loose and have excess movement when up on the lift for MOT, therefore leading to a fail??
I'd be more worried about the mobile MOT/VOSA folks who stop random (young) drivers to check their cars at some car cruises/meets, than the actual MOT since I could raise it for MOT.

Cant say for sure but dont think it would. Iv heard of people removing helper springs to help them get that bit lower aswell, so you must be able to run low without an issue.
How often have you been stopped by vosa and had them under your car and jacking it up checking suspension? If they are pulling anyone over its lorries and vans as thats where they find faults with the likes of loads, weights and tachographs. Thats where they get their 'catches' not with general motorists with a bald tyre or bulb out

Well tbh I've never been stopped by them, but I know of a few people in certain areas in N. Ireland that have been, and had cars impounded for cut springs, (not that I'd be doing that), straight through exhausts etc. They seem to pick on young lads with modified cars at organised car cruises, although it does seem to be certain cars they pick on(mainly 306 dturbos, saxos etc).
I'd probably never be stopped, but I'd rather not get a fine or whatever if I was!

It's the full front and rear kit so a complete replacement for your current suspension.

ive been pulled a good 9 times for "drug searches" and "spot checks" and not once have they mentioned suspension even with the adjusters out and its seriously low. true one cop did say i like the good old vag cars
