Apple Car Play on Formentor

Afternoon All,
New to the group, I’ve been looking through a number of threads and some really good information/tips available.

To give a quick intro, I actually ordered a Cupra Leon (VZ3 300) through a lease company in July this year. I ordered a stock car as I cancelled my order for a GTI Clubsport which was moved to March next year.

Cut a long story short, like so many on here car was due in October and I then got an email end of September to say it wasn’t built. As I was in desperate need for a car, I managed to secure a brand new (5 miles) formentor VZ2 310 which was at a dealership where the customer had withdrawn (their loss, my gain!!)

Had the car now 2.5 weeks and love it!!

Apple carplay can be intermittent at times with wireless! It can play songs back to back, then all of a sudden it looks like it’s playing, but zero sound coming through the car.

Speaking of wireless, had 2 occasions where the phone was live lava!

Also, has anyone noticed when in Apple music, the artist, song, album name is all mashed together? Or just me

I have had the issue where the phone overheated whilst charging and switched itself off. Someone mentioned on here that its due to the phone slipping around whilst driving so the phone moves off and back onto the wireless charging point. It's only done it once. The artist and song mash up affects us all I believe so not sure if that's Cupra or carplay. Other than that connectivity has been spot on.

Yeah, the alignment of text in Apple CarPlay isn’t right however, I think that’s iOS15, as it’s been fine previously?

Wireless stability seems OK for me, only disconnected a couple of times and reconnects again. I normally leave my phone face down on the charging mat.

Same issues for everyone…
I click mute button and increase volume from steering wheel to hear music.

No, i have ios 14.x before and updated to 15, still same.

I do t use the wireless charger just plug phone in with cable it is pretty stable and phone chargers quickly too. Every so often the car play screen goes very pixelated and colours in wrong place just shut down car play then go back in and works fine

I have the issue with the pixelation after about 30 minutes of being connected. Always use a connection lead. Really annoying.

News I am hearing on the Facebook groups is that v1890 doesn't fix the CarPlay issues.

Font overlap is definitely a Cupra issue, with my same phone the text on the playback screen looks fine in my dad's Audi A7.

The click to mute and volume up fix is second nature. Horrible software in this car

Can i Connect Apple car play wireless pls??
As i cannot do it from my side and even the agent cannot get trough this.. I have the wireless charging package..

Some markets unfortunately have wireless CarPlay disabled by default. I have the same issue.

I tried multiple Formentors, so it is the series for the whole market. Funnily enough, other VAG vehicles can have wireless CarPlay and wireless Android auto on same market (friend has it on Škoda Superb, bought new for the same market as my Formentor), so there is not much to do…

There was a way to enable it with OBDEleven but not as an app there, search the thread about OBDeleven for more details
