For my birthday, I got a Meguiars G220 and some Lake County pads. (How did they know?)

I now have three cars with fantastic looking bonnets :D, so I thought I'd give my Leon some attention (Using what I'd got in my cleaning box)

NXT wash (2 bucket)
Clay bar with last touch (50/50 with distilled water)
Scratch X
Megs step 1 paint cleaner
Megs step 2 polish
NXT Wax. (Although I've always liked NXT, I was a little disappointed with its machine application )
Last touch (50/50 with distilled water)

Anyway, I was very pleased with the result - stacks better scratch & swirl removal than by hand.

Now - I've just had a rear bumper sprayed and it's a perfect match for the car. However, it struck me that you can really see the metal flake in the new paint and it's stunning. My efforts on the rest of the car leave it with more of a glow, which seems to mask the flake.

Can you please suggest things that would make the rest of the car 'sparkle' like the new paint?

Or the kit

I used this by recommendation and it was excellent for showing the flake in the paint.

I would assume platinum and arctic have a similar finish?

Cheers Patrick!

So - no wax........

How have you found it for protection?

I've found with NXT that all the insect spatter across the front wipes off really easily. How does the Werkstatt Acrylic fare?

I'll be utterly honest - application and removal of the Jeffs stuff is nothing short of hard work, even with a machine - unless your paint is absolutely spotlessly surgically clean before you apply the stuff it takes ages to remove. It took a few attempts to get it right although of late i've sacrificed the 'popping flakes' for Nattys paste wax, just because it smells so good.

I reckon it lasted a good 3 months before showing signs of fading though :)
