Had a run in with the telegraph pole outside my house. My mirror is bent backwards now. Nothing seems to bee broken plastic wise. It's a motorised one though so may be damage to mechanism.

Help appreciated, can this be fixed easily? At the moment it's held on by something towards the rear side of the mount. I can't push it back on or pull it off, but scared it'll fall with driving. :(

Should just pop back into place mate. That's how you fit them

Just twist it back into place, it'll be fine
Mine had habit of doing that during my first year of ownership, no contact needed, it'd just drop down overnight... although maybe some local twat was doing it for giggles?

Hmm, I'm not sure I tried twisting it but it only goes backwards. It's now facing upwards with the mirror towards the front, and the bit that goes into the car is about 1 cm away from where it should be I can see the holes where two locating plugs go into, but I couldn't seem to force it back in. Maybe there's a knack to it or perhaps the mirror has to be facing the right direction before it'll locate back into the hole.

Oh dear.

Went to the dealer. The mirror looked OK and appeared to work but the door was bent. Went to a body shop... I'm there now , and they've managed to straighten door metal out but something is bent inside the mirror so it won't lock back into place properly..

... so they are going to bolt it in place but I won't be able to use the folding mechanism.... And I'll need a new mirror.... :(
