Hi everyone,

is there any difference between the BAM and ARY engines. i know the turbos and map etc are different but i just need to know whether there's any internal differences?

reason being a mate has found a ARY engine from a audi TT cheap but in good condition. he wants to do a big turbo build so his looking into building a decent reliable engine but still drive his car about at the same time so this could be a good opportunity.

cheers people! :)

With the ARY im not 100% (as leon never came with this code, I have an a3 tqs with it) but wrist pins could be different as BAM< AMK & AGU were 20mm most others only 19mm
Also supposedly BAM has more reinforcement casting in the block
If you need one I do have a spare BAM engine kicking about

Wrong, my Leon is ARY, but you are right ARY engines uses 19mm wrist pins so engine limits are much lower than BAM/AMK
