Well after what seems like an age of looking i've managed to find myself a Platinum Grey LCR. The garage is delvering it to me on Friday morning and i cant wait. Now all i have to do is stop reading about revo!!

..........must be nearly friday!!:D

Matt

I did hear that platinum R's were faster than all the others

I picked up a 2004 53 plate with 32k on the clock, full service history, a years warranty etc etc for £11'500 and they're delivering it from the lake district for free (i live in cheshire) so i think i got a good deal??

Just cant wait to get my hands on it now!

You weren't looking too hard, I found one in 2 days

Im very fussy!! It had to be a 225 in good nick, that wasnt re-mapped (my insurance at the mo wont even consider covering me) Alot that were for sale near me were either thrashed abused dogs or well over priced, the most worrying thing was that these were all at Seat delaers, the worst being in Nottingham!!

I am too. Although I wasn't fussed about engine, as the 225 is no more powerful than a 210, and the steering wheel didn't bother me. But I was after one with mint paintwork and been looked after.

Whats the definition of a "thrashed abused dogs", you guys have obviously seen a few for sale, but what signs do the LCR's show to say they have been thrashed.

Thrashed was a loose term i suppose, its mainly been damage.......a minimum of 2 curbed alloys (we're not talking little marks here) front ends covered in stone chips (some of which were rusting), dodgy spray jobs, broken head lights etc etc. When a car has this sort of damage it just makes u wonder how its been driven. I know you dont buy a car like an R to tootle around in, but id rather buy one that shows signs of being cared for...if you know what i mean

Picked mine up on Sat. So far, oil leak and squeaking...alternator belt maybe?

Not having a great time of it really. I've had it p-torqued too (then discovered the leak!) But I'll write up a separate post on that once the car is fixed up and I can give it a blatt without fear of oil spraying out the engine.

certainly am, i've been looking for a similar LCR for a while but as you mentioned the dealers around Cheshire are useless!

Glad you've found one though, i'll give you a wave if i see you in Haslington!
