Good morning ladies and gents.
I’ve embarked on my holiday to Cumbria (150 mile trip from home) for a week, I’ve been meticulously checking over the car before the day on Friday, including oil, coolant, tyre pressure and torque spec on the wheel bolts as I had new tyres up front.
I decided to do a little fluids check up whilst I was here after a long drive with lots of stop start driving as traffic was a nightmare.
Coolant is good but engine oil… it was on zone A (according to the owners manual) before the journey, when I checked it is in zone C, I’ve had a bad experience with excessive oil consumption in the past and I fear it will be piston rings, I’m just wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences with engine oil consumption on the 2.0TSI DKZA engine, my 2017 S3 made the same journey last year with not much stop start driving and at a constant 70mph for the majority to the journey and I never had an issue from as far as I can remember.
Safe to say I will be driving to Kendal today to pop to Halfords to buy some 0W-30 VW 504 00 (unless anyone gets in touch to say I’m wrong) before it gets too low.
any information would be appreciated as usual!
