You looked like you were going round pretty quickly. The other cupra r is a bit more hardcore, as much as I'd like the weight loss I couldn't live with a stripped out car.
These cars are an expensive hobby anyway, but doing track days would just keep extending that parts wish list!

Yeah we run about the same times actually
He caught up as the bimmer was slowing me up I think.
Once spaced out and with no one in front of us he couldn’t close and I couldn’t open a bigger gap.
It’s my loose driving that keeps me up to speed.
We will see when my diff is fitted this summer. Was going in for one in April but Covid messed that up.
I did sub 1 min laps so I was over the moon 59.02 was my best of the day.
Mine has no back seats etc and is braced at rear too. Just not stripped to that extent ( yet ).
Yeah parts list hahaha
It never shortens, just grows.

Oh nice, you're getting the diff. That will be awesome. Then you'll want more power!

I didnt think it was fair to keep running it as it was, I had been chasing an oil leak thinking it was turbo but then found out it was head gasket weeping oil outwards, no water oil mix or lack of compression though.

Just didnt want to take it all way to Germany for it to develop and ruin my holiday and equally for me to dump oil on track and ruin someone else's holiday or cause an accident.

Yeah I hear fluids on track is one of the worst on the ring.
People who aren’t as methodical as you, can cause big accidents.

I tried ds2500 and had warped discs and pad pick up along with over heated crumbly pads.
Now use Carbotech xp 10’s and have to say they are good.
They do squeal like stuck piglets under the arches in traffic though.

I'm running standard solid Brembo discs, standard rebuilt Brymbo calipers, rb600 fluid, all braided lines throughout with abs delete, Tilton brake bias valve in car and carbotech xp12s.

Honestly the car stops as well as the tyres let it, Ian at Carbotech recommended slick or semi slick tyres only on xp12. They still lock my semis up if your really standing on them.

Cant fault my braking setup its awesome.

Used to have ds2500 in as they came on the car, very depsoit heavy and edges of pads dropped apart fairly quickly.

If my car was used on road I would not be running xp12s. First time in when theyre cold genuinely thought the wheel was rubbing on the strut. Sound horrible and rough.....but they stop the car so well I dont care.

So I’ve opted for Ferodo ds1.11 pads again and tarox F2000 discs. Not had time to get the braided lines on, but I have had the dog bone mount polybushed which everyone has been telling me for year’s to do. We’re at Donny on Tuesday evening, can’t wait!

Yeah in the silver one.
That’s me!
Crazy difference with Trev’s car in the corners with the diff.
Mine just almost stops and sits there spinning on every corner.
Especially the last.
Literally waiting tapping your fingers waiting for some grip.

What's a track evening like? And whats it like with the Covid guidelines in place?

Track eve you start about 5.15.
3 Out laps behind a van to show you the lines to take.
Then open pit lane from 5.30 until 8 pm.
A shorter session than a track day. Cheaper too.
Track is usually a little busier but easy to find space.
On a short track like Brands it’s a long enough session.
You can put In 10 laps plus at a time. Then cool the car and chill for a bit before the next run.
Mentally draining more than physical.
I think a whole day there would be too much for me.
Long tracks like Snetterton, Bedford (3.8 miles) you’re doing less laps, takes longer to learn as a result. longer straits to relax on though so not as demanding.
Being honest on a full day, you stand and chat more, don’t really drive twice as much as an eve session.
Lots of people leave early having had enough or having broken something etc.
But that’s also true of an evening.
Both are great fun but an evening on a shortish track is more than enough.
I came away last time buzzing.
Only quit early as fuel had run out.

Sorry with the CV19
It’s all good. No spectators or passenger rides unless living in same home.
Registration done from screened off staff.
In the pits it’s just common sense and there’s plenty of room.

If someone comes too close you can always start coughing. That’ll move them back

I might do a track evening to start off with then as its my first time taking my cupra on track, I've been upgrading loads of bits for a while now getting it better and better for the track.
When you next going?
Hopefully all this covid stuff will stop soon, would like to take my mate with me. I might have to do a evening by myself first lol.
Yeah I will just cough loads if someone gets to close lol
