Sat in my mates A4 s-line yesterday made me realise how cack the interior is in my FR lol

It never used to bother me (i loved how basic the cupra interior was), but I am doing a lot more miles now and it's made me realise how bad the car looks on the inside

Obviously with an Audi, you are paying for interior and the badge, but I can kinda see why people do it

Have many people on here ditched their Seat for an Audi??

I can't see myself changing cars just for the interior, but I have to be honest, the FR interior is gash compared to an Audi!

I know this topic has been brought up a few times, but it is something that has only just started to bother me. I always said I'd buy a car based on value for money, not the badge or how the interior looked..........but I am kinda in two minds about this now.

I tend to agree, but what i would say is that I have had 2 LEONS and my GF has an IBIZA over the last 6 years and have had no real problems.

My brother has had 4 TTs over the same period, and yes the interior is a lovely place to be, but he has had problems with them all in one way or another - mainly relating to build quality.

Hi last TTS convertible, was just inside the warranty (luckily) and needed £8k worth or work!! Magnetic ride, new suspension all round, complete new Roof and mechanism and something else (electrical) that i cant remember. I was also pretty disappointed with the Speed Blue Paint quality when i polished it for him last summer, he had it from new and no accidents but were runs in the paint and orange peal looking paint on close inspection.

He now has an TT Special Black Edition (new) and that has been back for something or the other as well  Still looks the business though ;)

I've never thought the seats (ie the upholstery) were that bad but always thought the dash could look a lot better in the leon. Especially compared to the Audi's. It's funny that the mk1 Leon & A3 had a pretty similar dashboard, but then the next models were miles apart.

I was choosing between 5-7yr old Golfs and Leons when I bought my car, the green/grey swoop from the bottom of the stereo up to the dashboard looks really poor compared to the golf but sticking a decent double din head unit in has taken away half of the plastic.

Besides, the Leon looked newer on the outside and was much nicer to drive. Golf had lots of weird creaks inside...

Seat interior is gash compared to the majority of car manufacturers. Even Audi interiors are **** and boring, Alfa, Jaguar, Bentley and Aston are the kings of interiors

Yeh I almost bought an Arnage T before I decided on the Leon

No need to be a smart arse about it, I never said 'buy a Bentley next time', I was making a point about them manufacturers being the best at interiors even compared to Audi.

Time of the month?

I think they realised that a lot of people were unhappy with the quality difference as the mk3 is much better than the mk2

But haven't they taken out the independent rear suspension on the cheaper models to recoup the cost of the better interior?

The penny pinching on the Leon is extreme! No Damped grab handles (thought they were standard since a Golf MK IV). The alarm LED is on the wrong side for the UK, offside door. No bonnet strut either

But I suppose all models get independent rear suspension which is a big plus in my view. New Leons will only get independent suspension if their BHP > 150 BHP.

I think the Leon interior looks best at night.

Possibly but I don't know. First I've heard of that but I haven't done much research on the mk3 yet. Just had a little look around one when I was at the dealers the other day

Some mk3 models will do without independent rear suspension, but in all fairness the vast majority of people who will buy one will have no idea what the difference is. If this saving helps with the interiors on the whole range then I'm all for it! Obviously the higher powered fr's and cupras will have a proper suspension setup but these cars will be bought by people who know what they are buying and are more likely to push the car a bit harder.
I can't wait for the new cupra/ R later this year.

Yes you are quite right... Bentleys DO have nicer interiors than Seat Leons

I dropped my car into JKM for some work and had their courtesy car for the duration. Was a basic little 1.2 Polo, new shape, but it was such a nice place to sit and drive.... made mine feel very cheap by comparison!

I must admit the Leon interior is a bit 'bland' and in parts the quality of the plastics could be improved uponn, but it does the job

Even the door cards on my old 2002 Mk1.5 Focus had a more 'plush' soft touch feel and the dash design in that was a masterpiece in comparison.

Even the interiors of the new Ford models are way ahead of the Leon, the quality of the interior plastics on my mum & dads 62 plate Focus titanium is way ahead of the Leon and its a well designed pleasant place to sit.

The MK3 leon has improved it a lot from the pics in terms of design, I've not seen a MK3 Leon in the flesh yet, so not experienced the interior
