Hi,

I need a new engine cover as mine is soaked in oil - it'll never be the same :p

Am I right in thinking the engine covers across the VAG TFSI range will fit my cupra? I.e a S3 cover will fit & all I need to do, is remove the Cupra / S3 part from the top - is this possible?

Cheers

Yes they will fit, it is simple enough to change the S3 'Audi 2.0 turbo' inlay piece.

Just open up your engine cover so you can see the air filter element, then you will see 6-8 black tabs of plastic which hold the 'CUPRA' inlay in place.

Push these out from behind and you can take off your CUPRA piece.

Now, do the same to the S3 cover and insert your CUPRA inlay.

Or alternatively, if you mean the silver bit on top of your engine cover is stained with oil, do what I did, removed the CUPRA inlay and sanded down the silver piece then used some white spirits on it, masked up the CUPRA inlay (black piece) then spray painted the silver piece again with a can of high temperature paint.

Cheers for this!!!!

The old has got into the cover & even with a good clean it looks damp - hard to explain! The S3 engine covers are easier to source - so I'll get one of these.

Does anyone know if you can buy the "Cupra" inlay separately? If not, I'll do what you've suggested!

Also how do you get the air filter out of the cover?
