Hi,

Got a pre FL FR with a sunroof but this doesn't close when I lock the car. Is there a way to get the sun roof to autoclose when I lock the car via VAG-COM?

Thanks

Alex

What model is this on? Also, probably a stupid question but you are holding town the lock button on the key to try and do this aren't you? (in the same way you need to if you want all the windows to close).

I've got a FL FR Leon with a sunroof and it does close the sunroof with all the windows if you hold down the lock button on the remote. It came like this and I haven't had to get any VAG-COM options configured to enable it to do that.

Well I never knew it did that, and it works!!!!!!!!!

Must read the manual.

Thanks.

It's configured like this in case you do actually want to lock the car normally but leave the windows / sunroof open. If you then want full closure you then just continue holding the button down :)

Another little trick with the remote that you may not know about is that if you do a single press on the lock button it locks the car and sets the deadlocks. However if you double-press the lock button it will lock the car but release the deadlock (car will still be locked just with no deadlock) and the interior volumetric sensors will also be disabled at the same time (useful if you have a pet you need to leave in the car for a short time while you pop into the shop).

With deadlocks set it prevents the car being opened from the handles inside when the car (i.e. so a thief can't smash the window then just open the door from the inside). With deadlocks released, the car can be opened from the inside handles even when locked (i.e. would allow a pet to be released in an emergency).

Knew the second one but not the first, thanks one again.

No worries :D

Some people don't and it took me a little while to figure out the exact configuration of the single/double press on the lock button because AFAIU it appears to be configured differently between the pre-FL and FL cars.

Did you also know that holding down the unlock button will open all the windows (excluding the sunroof)? I forgot to mention that in my previous post.

Nope, gonna run out and try. Hours of family entertainment when the key fob.

Yeah, the window opening function is a nice-to-have because on a hot day you can open the windows from the comfort of your house prior to going out which lets some air circulation into the car to cool it down in advance :) Although I've only had the car a month, I have to admit that I've hardly used that function.
