Nope, not unless you want to pay over the odds. Post a request in the VAGCOM section, stating what you're after and where you are, and hopefully someone might be able to assist.

Or buy an eBay cable and get a $99 license from Ross-Tech to convert your demo software (the free download) to a functioning license. Or if you think you'll use it more often, splash out $250 on a full license and a Ross-Tech cable. The $250 kit enables more functionality than the $99 upgrade - the Ross-Tech website gives the details.

$99 is about £64, less than the cost of one diagnostic session at a dealer.

Depends on how much is involved in the change. Lots of dealers will charge you a minimum of one hour's time for any job, to include bringing the car in, connecting up the diagnostics, filling out the paperwork and etc. The additional time needed to perform a simple one-bit setting change such as Autolock should be only a few minutes, and covered within that charge - but I don't run a dealership, and they may differ.

Then there are things they are prohibited from doing, such as turning down the EGR settings. VAG-com (or VCDS as it's now known, to escape Volkswagen AG's trademark) can soon pay for itself.

Can i ask why you would want to disable the Anti Hijact function??

Me myself i like it, not only do you feel safer knowing the doors/boot is locked, but if you have kids its an extra safety option (jus incase you yourself forget to lock the door before setting off) Not only that i carry valuables around in my boot every now & again (again incase i forget lock the boot the car does it for me anyway) stops thieving scum trying stuff on well your sat at lights etc)

Only thing that bugs me on my car is the boot how it automatically locks no matter what after 10seconds (pain in the a** if your in & out off the boot)

The reason i want to disable it is the central locking is playing up so when the autolock kicks in i am being locked in the car!
