Just got a new mp3 phone and hooked it up to the aux in socket, and all working fine. Except when there is no music between tracks i get an interference type noise. Even with the phone and lead disconnected still get the noise?? Anybody else got this problem? or able to try for me? nothing connected and volume on about 10 - 12.

I use a 3.5 to 3.5 that winds up into a little spindle - keeps things nice and neat.

The interference is acceptable when the lights are off, but when on it makes quiet songs sound aweful.

I use this with it http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/...3-6300-6301-5300-E90-N95-8GB-N96/Product.html

So, when the phone is in the above there are no trailing cables anywhere becuase the 3.5 jack doesn;t even need to be extended out of the spindle to reach from the socket to the phone, and the charing is done from the holder. It also works great has a hands free as I don't have bluetooth - the caller is heard though the car speakers and then phone picks up my voice.

So, it's nearly perfect apart from the annoying buzzing! :)

any chance the buzzing is due to poor quality leads? i use my ipod thru the aux and get some noise between tracks but i know its a crap cable. might look for an insulated better quality one see if it helps.

Oh god i hate the interference i get in my leon
My lead is is from Maplin and plugs into the bottom of my ipod.
I get interference at most volumes and its sooooooooo annoying during quiet spots in songs as you can hear it.

Does anyone think a better quality lead will stop this?

Or is it a earth ground problem with the Leon's??

well it used to be earth problems in my mk4 ibiza's so i wouldt be suprised if it was the case in the leon to.. i have a decent 3.5 jack to 3.5 maplins jack to my mp3 player but it doesnt happen just on the aux setting happens on cd to so must be the earth?

I've found that using the aux in does generate a slight buzzing noise. The buzz gets worse if you dim the interior lights, which could be solved by a better earth or a filter in line with the aux lead (you used to be able to get similar things for stereos on older cars). For me I leave the dash lights at max brightness and the buzz is minimal for the most part, so I ignore it.
