I was under the impression the Supermarket stuff was crap petrol just with octane boosters in it to make up the RON..

With Optimax creeping 104 in places round here I'm thinking about risking it :D

interesting topic, and helpful too as im looking to get a cupra end of this year maybe, if not into next year.
SUL up in glasgow is 98.9 and 95.9 for normal at the moment, but that wnt last long

on my 1.4 i only manage about 37-40mpg.
being a student and being poor i always try not to floor it all the time, so its steady but its all town driving or back roads so its a bit more strenuous on the engine than sitting at 50 on the motorway.

I'm dubious of that trip computer anyway, especially if your motor is modified with 4 bar FPR etc. I see 45mpg average when going to work but if you actually work it out its more like 37 or there abouts, still pretty impressive i guess.

I also think that when modified and it comes on boost much earlier its easy to keep a steady mpg, although boot it a bit and kiss goodbye to economy !!

But as mentioned its a performance car, you want economy buy a soot chucker....

Oh by the way I put my motor into Revo "stock" mode the other day and it felt rediculously slow boosting to 7ish psi

I'm managing to average around 29mpg, which is pretty much stop start through Bristol, as well as having air con on now and then, although managed to average 41mpg on the motorway the other day! which I've never seen before
