Awesome GTI Clutch - £625 and worth every penny!

got this clutch and flywheel fitted during the week. love it! although i noticed last night sometimes the clutch pedal sticks down around an inch and i need to lift it with my toe. could anyone shed some light on whats going on here? many thanks, james.

turns out the new slave that came with the kit has burst somewhere. i tried to bleed the system tonight to take it over to see what the problem was but realised all the fluid was pissing out the bottom. going to phone awesome in the morning, but cant believe this has happened after so many good reviews. just my luck or has the mechanic done something wrong?

Just sounds like a dodgy slave. Will be a warrenty claim

phoned awesome today and there giving me another slave on warranty, but wont contribute for labor costs so im going to be at least £200+ on extra labor for something that shouldnt have happened in the first place :\

Really? If they have damaged it surely they should foot the bill? Especially after a clutch fitted by them for a serious amOunt of money!

no sorry, this wasn't fitted by awesome it was fitted by a mechanic in my area. I thought once proven that the slave is faulty they would atleast help pay for labor but that's not the case

Surely if you provide a VAT receipt they would?

Hope mine doesnt have any issues... Whipped the box off today and sent it for rebuild, will reassemble when back, test the car for few days and update thereafter. Just have to fit new servo and MC in the meantime

Mines been bob on and I've heard of no other issues, maybe this is an isolated case?

Maybe caused by the way its packaged, the flywheel is right next to the concentric without anything in between to take impact/protect from parcel being thrown around.

Not far off ordering this but obviously would rather know this is an isolated case and nothing more to be too concerned about..

Will do, maybe abit more of delay as ordered a cambelt kit while all in pieces may as well replace that too.

rang awesome this morning and have booked in for sat 22nd sept. still a bit in 2 minds but im having them fit it for me so if there was any problems they will sort it. £889 for part plus fitting.... alot of money to hand over hope its worth it!

Yeah it's a good deal of money to hand over, but imagine if it was a Sachs clutch kit instead

its for a 1.9 tdi which is mapped to 185bhp an 300 lbs..... would this be the kit i would want to go for or will i be ok just buying another standard clutch (or is there something inbetween) as the car has now done just over 80k now so the clutch might just be on its way out any way. has anyone else got the same car and if so what have they done in this situation??
