I just sold my MK5 Golf R32 tonight and I'm buying my old LCR back tomorrow and the first thing i'm going to do is lower it.

I was going to buy coilovers but seeing as i'm never going to track it its a bit over kill. However I still would like a nice low stance so whats the best set out there???

I would like an honest drop of at least 50mm if not more. I know ride comfort will suffer slightly however as long as its not to bad I can deal with it.

My budget for them is £200 MAX however that just buying them as I'll be fitting them myself.

Below is a pic of how it looks now and how low i'd like it to be.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Cheers Alex

50mm drop, you need coilovers really. 50mm drop on standard shocks will kill them. look at ap coilovers, top quality coilovers but only cost around £350. made in the same place as kw :D

+1 your looking at coilies there. Out of interest, what made you sell the r32 for your old leon?

The cheapest AP coilover i've seen are well over £400. Where are yous getting them for £350???

The reason I sold the R32 was purely cost reasons. The wife and I have decided that we want to move to a bigger house so the car had to go to pay off some good size debts. Buying the LCR back (which I should never have sold tbh) is saving me over £240 a month which is a lot lol

I've thought about selling up many times and there are loads of cars that id love to own, but i know i'd regret selling my LCR i think it's a keeper. I regret selling my mk1 punto gt turbo so much that i've been considering buying another.

This is the first time i've bought back the same car. I sold the Leon for the Evo8 in my avatar and loved it but it was seriously expensive to run as an everyday car. Then I bought and astra VXR then the golf.

I considered an evo 7 before i decided on the LCR, but the running cost put me off abit also the horror stories i was reading at the time with people getting jacked and peoples houses being broken into for the keys while they were still in bed, just wasn't worth the attention imo.

Anyway the closest your gonna get to that drop without coilovers is with the H&R kit not sure on the cost though.

They're the only ones that offer a decent low stance and at £150 all in is pretty good value for money.

Does anyone know what ones I choose on that link???

looking at that link i think the bottom ones are for the 50/40mm drop but judging by the title on the page it just says 1.8 1.9 tdi so im assuming they are for a normal mk1 leon. they will fit but will only drop your car approx 15mm less than the stated value as the cupra r already sits lower. they will fit tho because i recently bought some wietec springs off a lad on ebay who was breaking a cupra r. i found out that from the part numbers they were for a 50mm drop...went straight into my fr tdi and gave it a very nice stance on 19s.

might be a good ideal to email them via contact link and confirm the details.

ive done a little search and found these for you mate, 50mm f 40mm weitec kit for the cupra r
