Well not been having much luck recently with the car the rear number plate light unit fell apart when i tried to change the bulb in there after the bodyshop put the bumper back on, bulb was burned out and black, anyone know how this unit is connected? just plug in and play? got a new unit coming from Seat friday £6 going to attempt it on friday when i collect it, i have to be careful not to lose the wire in the bumper? i think my number plate surround is in the way off me pulling out the old light unit so that will have to come off again as well, great more fiddly fun :(

Worst thing happened last sunday though neighbour who lives round the corner (cough) parked his scabby low loader lorry outside my driveway massive ford truck thing to close to my drive way, leaving it ridiculously tight to get in and out of the drive, neighbour the other side also has a lorry same size nothing i can do about that as he's a handy man and rents nxt door anyway one is bad enough, this day there was two of them!, well i swung in off the road thinking i should be able to get in and my back door just got caught on the side of the scabby lorry and booom! it got sliced in half! massive scrape noise!! clipped these metal pins that stick out the side of the lorry, it was like a tin opener sliced the whole door open and put a little nick in the back pillar near the petrol cap long line of damage i was majory pissed off :censored: told the bloke never to park your piece of :censored: outside my house ever again he was sorry etc but ran off basically

Anyway that night after i calmed down managed to find a new rear door, off another genuine cupra r in black off ebay for £66! more than lucky! drivers side rear perfect all glass, no dents, went and collected next day locally and it was mint few scratches etc, got the door to the bodyshop had the door back and front side painted by a very expensive bodyshop they swapped the glass over and doorcard this bodyshop charges alot but the work is good and as a result the car needed the whole side of the car resprayed & blended in etc also decided to have the rear bumper painted again at the same time due to some old scuffs on there

Luckily its all come back mint better than before perfect colour match and has been machine polished now so its minty shiny, didn't go through insurance its already to high so im -£566 lighter this month thanks to my mistake meh

Spent about 7 hours sat washing the car, polishing and waxing everything getting rid of the bodyshop dust and smell, full hoover out major clean washing door seals etc also put the rubber seal off my old door on the new door as it didn't have one for some reason newer door was off an 03 plate interestingly enough anyway, its all back together now and you would never know what happened perfect colour match car looks brand new oh and bloke has not parked his truck outside the house since so much hassle recently i can't begin to explain!! raaa going to leave it in my garage from now on lol

man thans a story and a half!!

As for the bulb holder, you can easily lose it in the bumper so when i unplug mine, i usually just tape it to the bumper!

if you lose it, its a right arse to get out, wire coathanger job! lol.

thanks all for the positives

i think the word blend i used is wrong more like or a spray the whole side rather than just the door so that it all matches, they let it set for 2 days so it went rock hard then went about machine polishing it so that it looks like new, they have done a very good job i know all the bodyshops round my way and this is the best job i've had done so far even in bright sunshine you can't see anything looks as good as new if not better now
