Bad news from dealer today!

Hi all, looking for some advice as i have just received today a phone call from my dealer re delivery of my cupra which has been on order from last october, and arrived at the dealership today for end of march delivery. Unfortunately the cupra i ordered has not arrived but a fr has come instead, they have promised me another cupra in build but will be another 6-8 weeks with different options to the one i specced. What would you recommend as a way forward as the dealer has said that they are looking to help me out as the new car is of a slighly higher price list wise.Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

If they have cocked up your order, surely it's not your fault and they should give you the higher specced car for the price of the original ordered one, but that may just be my opinion. As far as I see they owe you. Dunno how they will handle it though.

same happend to me' ordered a BOC 4 months ago to be told 2 weeks ago that an FR was coming . Gutted, so had to reorder got to wait another 3 to 4 months now, ****!!!! , have got quit a lot of stuff to put on at dealers , so that is what he is going to give me as compansation . but it still does not cover the fact that i have to wait another bloody 4 months if i am lucky.................

The lengths these guys go to in the name of customer service eh....

Not a good start to my seat experience, this is my first seat and not what i was looking forward to at all.

The new! car has xenons, but i didn`t order the original one with them so the dealer says that this will not be invoiced to me. Not sure what to make of this because i`m getting an option for free that i don`t want, not willing to wait for another 3-4 months though as others on this forum are having to do.

How in the name of all that is Holy does a salesman manage to F-UP and order some one places with him????!!!!!!!!! Surely, when you are sat at his desk telling him what you want and he is sat there writing all the stuff down on his little order form and confirming everything with you and STILL manages to screw it up?????? You and Nick have now had the same problem and as far as I am concerned it is totaly unacceptable. Perhaps someone will put their foot down and contact SEAT UK to complain about this. It's all fine and well to give you extras to compensate but it surely doesn't come anywhere near to fixing the fact that you have to start waiting all over again and feeling miserable every time you read or hear about another person finally getting theirs and how much they are enjoying it!!!!! Guys I really well and truly feel for you, even though mine was not a wrong order it did fail quality control at the factory and had to be rebult so I have also had to sit here and be patient while I wait for the car to arrive HOPEFULLY now next month.

If you're after any cupra there is one for sale on Seat used cars but it wont be a 10 plate and it is orange. Just a suggestion if you don't want to wait. If you are happy with that I would forde the dealership to get that one from whichever dealership is selling it and give it to you.

Thanks for the tip off re the orange cupra but i have ordered a white cupra and hopefully if the dealer gets it right this time, i shall get one after a very long wait.

After looking at the white ones on this forum i still can`t wait to finally get my hands on one.

Wise choice mate. These cars are the dogs bollocks in white. My boc is also gonna be white and like they say all good things come to those who wait. Just don't like waiting too much myself hahahahahahahahaha

these cars to look good in white very neat :D. i wanted it in the orange but the parents dont like it in the orange, they said why the orange and i said because it would be a rare colour

I mentioned this to my dealer when the first guy on here wrote about it, the sales manager their said it wasn't possible do accidentally order the wrong car on the new system. Feel sorry for u both.

That was also my point dannyp. I just cannot understand how that could happen, unless someone somewhere pulled strings to have your order sold to someone else...............................

I'm wondering if it was the dealers mistake or seat mucking it up. We have had three tsi Ibizas ordered for stock/demo that have gone astray.

is it just me that's sitting here thinking that they have put all their time into there 'award winning used car scheme' and completely forgotten about the new car market??

Whether we like it or not SEAT unfortunately will always be classed as VW or Audi's poorer cousin and in times like these and with SEAT's growing reputation new customers will come to SEAT having experienced better. If they want to shake the imagine of the poor relation of the VAG group ( and you notice we classed as pretty bad for customer satisfaction in the J.D power/Whatcar? customer satisfaction survey) rookie errors like this have got to be stamped out you cant see Audi or VW making these errors?? We could almost be classed as another Alfa Romeo, quality cars awful dealer network (present company accepted techie)

i know it was my dealer, totally cocked up. ordered at the time when the computers were changed over to
VW net working in December, not that should have been an excuse , but you still dont no real truth, they can tell you anything, they no you want the car , but you just got to wait much much longer. it better be worth the wait , that's all i can say, talked about this time & time again on this forum. that's it from me on this subject !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sister just picked up a new audi, which was orignally deleivered with the wrong wheels, trim and something else..
Its not just seat who **** up.
Apparently they could do nothing..
Well until she refused the car, voila 3 days later she had what she asked for.

Im sure sometimes they are trying it on to get rid of a cancelled order,
