Ball joint advice

So decided to do my ball joints like a numpty I removed driveshaft from hub guess I chose long way but how tf do you line ball joint up as suspension seems to have dropped and just can get it lined up

Morning. I dont think the suspension has dropped. More than likely the bottom arm has raised.
Its a bit of a 3 handed job to do.
1st with one hand you need to try and push the lower arm down whilst getting the drive shaft back into the hub.
Once thats done, you need to push the arm down further so you can get the balljoint back into the hub.
May need a long lever bar in the bottom arm to lower it down far enough to do this job. May be able to do it without.

Just to add, ive always found it easiest to have the steering pointing forward at this point but leave the steering lock off incase you need a little movement.

Same - depending on what model you have (cast arms or forged) it's often worth undoing the ARB droplink as that gives you some room for manoeuvre.

The knuckle will move forward and back a bit if you have the steering lock off, which is helpful, while I also put a jack under the control arm to push the ball joint in place.

Try not to get your hand caught between the driveshaft and control arm if you jack it up though - three months later and it's still painful.
