I'm afraid there absolutely nothing to report, I've driven it once since I cleaned it. Winter is not a good time I lose faith, get bored and generally need stuff to do.
I need to 2 new tyres for the back, and am thinking of investing in a new filter.

I really need to plan what I want to do next, I need to start preppin for the track days next year!

I'm thinking oil temp gauge as mine is shagged.
Oil cooler.
LCR rear calipers.
Maybe a map tweak.

Ill get Christmas out the way and start doing something!

Ive ordered up some Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's as the falkens I was running have been discontinued :(

I need to find out whats knocking as its driving me mad now, something on the front right when you pull away.
My door seals are also shagged and misting the whole car like you wouldn't believe so need to sort that out pronto as its freezing inside the windows.
Oh and the boot mech has stopped working so I cant get in the boot.

You can tell winters here, Its been neglected for weeks, hasn't been washed for bloody ages!

I think you'll see a big improvement going from the Falken's to the Vred's mate.

Awesome tyres!!! :)

For the last couple of weeks Ive had a knocking noise from the front right.

Its been progressively getting worse so I jacked the car up last night and had a look, found the front lower arm front bolt was a turn and a half loose so torqued it up and no more knocking!

Well I sorted the knocking noise a few weeks ago, the front bolt on the lower arm had worked a turn loose and was letting the arm move a bit so tightened that up and all is good. :D

I also have it an oil change weekend before last and changed the oil pickup and cleaned out the sump, my pickup was actually pretty clean but not worth taking the risk is it. It also clocked 106k last week so needing doing :)

Next is looking like I need another N75 as the boost is fluxuating again, abit of a pain but just one of this things I guess. I still havnt done the abs sensor and considering it hasn't been washed this year I think I need to pull my finger out and give it a weekend of tlc!

It's shaping into a very busy couple of months ahead as me and Tim have gone into another A3 to repair.

Just out of curiosity, from start to now, how long have you been going on this project?

Sorry ive just seen your posts. I was the manager.....Ive left now though haha

Dropped the car off at the garage on the way to work this morning for a new track rod end and inner tie rod as they had seized so I couldnt get the tracking done.

Then its time to sort all the niggly little issues Ive got at the moment. The misses is away for a week so watch this space! :funk:

After realising the last time I washed the car was 28/11/12 I thought I better get it sorted!

Just a couple of snaps.

The Audi overhaul and build. :D

As some of you may be aware me and Tim (Ronin225) purchased an Audi between us that needs some TLC. Here is what we done yesterday:

Arrived bright and early to get cracking. Made a cuppa and set to it.

We'd already spent an evening taking the front end for accessibility so we didn't have to struggle with that on Saturday.
Before the front came off.

As the sharp eyed readers will notice, the engine is sitting very low, the monkey handed ******* ape that started the work on the engine had absolutely no idea and had ripped parts out left right and centre with no regard to how anything would go back together!
This is how he left it, cut cambelt, all reservoirs removed, engine mount off and bolts in every bore, complete ass job!

Anyway, before I get side tracked into abuse mode.......

PhillC then arrived (yep Phills still around, just in his comfy beemer) with the engine hoist, enthusiasm and knowledge to really get down and dirty with getting the old engine out, so after another cuppa me and Phill started taking everything out/off while Tim started building the new engine.

We knew the engine had dropped a rod but at this point we wernt sure why or how bad it had let go. After a few hours of graft and a bacon sarnie :) we were ready to completely remove the old engine and heres what we found...

A gaping hole on the front of the block from cylinder 2....:wtf:

AND a hole on the back from cylinder 3!! :-o

A little shocked we all stood, pointed and laughed for a few minutes with random neighbours coming to look too, then back to it.
Tim had been prepping the new block with a new pickup pipe and getting the new timing tensioner etc bolted on so now was time to get the head on and time it all up. :funk:

We finally managed to get it all on the hoist and mount the gearbox and transfer box back on :headhurt:

That's an engine out, rebuilt and put back in in under 12 hours on a driveway! A hard days graft but an awesome result!

Phill then headed off home so Me and Tim decided the day was done, called my misses for a change of clothes and headed out for some grub.

I will leave you all with this amazing shot of Tim just to wind him up, in my true style I was grabbing photos all day and caught this corker somewhere in the latter stages of the day........Tim Cragmire! :cheeky:
