cheap & easy to replace, but when they get 'stuck' they will need considerable persuasion which is where home tools run out & gas / air guns work
parts are about a tenner
sorry to hi-jack the thread, but i have the same issue.![]()
cus do you have the part numbers for both sides ? and i dont have access to air tools, will this be an issue ?
poor cupra Adam - http://www.vwspares.co.uk/ibiza99_steering.php
Though if you want I have some spares you're welcome to (now I have a hairdressers car) - new
that is very nice of you M0rk. how much would you want for the 2 ? also do i need to order any other bits before i attempt the replacement ?
cheers
Adam
You can have em, they're useless to me and rubbish bookends.
you shouldn't need anything else - they bolt to big metal things so can be changed independently of anything else
cus
my steering wheel is over to the right a lot, but its not pulling particularly bad in any direction.. isthis causing any harm to the car? :S
i cant afford to get it fixed until the 26th you see
do you have to drive holding the wheel to the right ? does it just sit there if you let go or does it try and return to 'centre'?
if your having to hold it to the right you need your tracking re-done asap as they will be munching your tyres like crazy.
its holding itself there, it doesn't pull itself back to the centre of anything.
i've checked the tyre treads inside and out, and they seem fairly even.
i'm just gonna have to risk it
