299 is quite cheap, considering some of these companies charge alot more

for 299, whats protected on the outside?
how does it work...

It's got a ten year garentee erm i carnt remember of the top of my head everything. It protects it from uv rays and fading and the rain drops drip off. If you go down they should have a brochure I'll try and find the website

Do not take a trip to Seat. That is just bad advise all round. The cleaners there are more likely to damage your car by not applying the product properly. By not applying the product properly this will decrease the life of the product also.

Have a look in the detailing section of the forum for more information

This is part of the problem. They protect the car without taking out the paint defects essentially locking the defects in until the product expires.

In the detailing world you can get a lot better levels of protection and better results visually than what you would pay someone who is not qualified to apply the product.

Its not really worth it to be honest. Please read post.

The fact that they give you Autoglym products on top of what they done for you simply shows that they are not confident in the process they just done. According to their advertisement its meant to protect the car for years. Typically it offers no more protection than products you can buy from halfords as they apply it wrong and/or if they apply it right they lock in the defects.

The dealers don't do it they het the autoglym people to come out
You mean Autoglym authorised detailers? If thats the case that is fine however as I stated, the general opinion from detailers on DetailingWorld is that its simply not worth the investment.

He is far better off getting a detailer to paint correct his car and protect it accordingly.

i understand what ur saying about how they will just lock in the paint defects that are already there

so, firstly id have to get a PAINT REPAIRER in first..........and then think about paint protection

damn, id prefer a company to just do everything in on...

are there companies like that out there?

Joe,

a good detailer will do everything you are after. The typical process is that they will

1) Clean the car and get rid of the contaminent.
2) Correct the paint of the car i.e. get rid of swirls, RDS and scratch as best as possible.
3) Protect the car. This protection can last upto a year depends on the type of products they use.
4) If require they will teach you how to look after the car.

This thread should be moved to detailing section.

I am assuming you have a black car? Have a look at these threads to give you an idea of what the process involves.

I recently purchased a brand new mk5 track grey Ibiza for the Mrs. They cleaned the car as they insisted they need to do their checks for I take delivery. They new that detailing is a hobby of mine as they always have a look at my car when i go there and promised me they would do damage the paint work.

I was greeted with buffer trails when I picked it up. I havent had the chance to correct the paint as its not too bad for the moment but I will have to. Unfortunately (no disrespect to the cleaners) but they do not get the training and time needed to do a good job. I know they sometimes outsource these protection jobs but I have found that the companys that do it dont get authorised detailers to conduct the work.

Search detailing world, it can all get a bit confusing but look through the showroom and get an idea of what they do.

Like has been said superguard ,yes it puts a sealent over your paintwork, but if its full of contaminets then its just sealed them all in.

Am sure if your on here your an enthusiast like most so will enjoy cleaning your car, get it detailed then its easy to keep up to it, wash once a week and polish/wax once a month.
The products arnt that expensive and a 500ml bottle of polish should last you ages.
