Hey guys,

Quick question, I will be looking to get a pillar pod when payday arrives :D and I was wondering what gauges are you all using and what ones would you recommend as I've seen loads and can't seem to decide which is best lol

Regards :)

Depends how deep your pockets are mate, but stay away from the analogue ones the ones where the pipe goes to the gauge they can tell fibs lol, if you want top quality the go for defi, expensive but the best, get the controller too then you can record action and replay it

How many guages do you want?

i'd say most important is boost guage second - oil temp guage followed by oil pressure.

you'll want to keep an eye on all three of these things once modifying a car.

The defi ones look real nice :D .... expensive, but nice lol

Any others that are resonablly priced? ... I'm assuming you mean stay away from the likes of Halfords! They have gauges and are ridiculously cheap which means they wont be any good.

I was looking at getting 2 - boost and oil temp gauges....but will definitely add the oil pressure to the list :)

The auto gauges aren't too bad, but to get more accuracy you'll need to spend a bit extra for Stack gauges.

i have an autogauge boost gauge in my car and it is reliable and as accurate as i need it to be.

I had prosport in my scoob 60mm stepper motor units so they do a reset sweep when ignition on and the any of the pressure or temp O es have a warning g which you can set and the also flash and buzz if that level is reached really good stuff very accurate too

Demon tweaks do sell some amazing stuff but also look into the jap mod scene too for things like this mate they have some awesome kit, I had the awesome apexi avcr boost controller gives boost reading throttle position rpm 2 setting for boost and scramble for overboost pulse if your is molded enough it can run from standard actuator pressure upto 3bar

I've been looking at a few sites and I need to ask everyone if they have any dealings with the website "XyberAutos"?

Their prices seem reasonable but only issue is that they are not UK based.

I'd have a look at Prosport 52mm's mate

I've had a few on watch from when they had a clearance but I missed the boat but they lit up exactly how I wanted them.

What colour are your dials? Black or white?

My dials are white. Are there any companies in the UK that you guys would recommend?

I'll keep looking, I'm guessing you want white gauge / red illuminations?

52mm measurements I'm assuming is the usual size not the 60?

And to confirm boost pressure / oil temp?

I'm not too fussy on the colour of the gauges as the AutoGauge ones I was looking had black dials.

I was only looking at 2 - boost and oil temp .... but at the start of this thread it was recommended that I look into getting an oil pressure gauge too.

Also, (sorry for the 20 questions) how do I know if a gauge is electrical or analogue as I've been told to stay well clear from analogue as they aren't very accurate.

I got a perfect red match with my SPA guages, insanely accurate guages but would be for nearly £200 quid each, they use a pressure sensor mounted in the boost pipe before the inlet manifold, you can set overboost alarms and record peak boost, plus a whole host of features I've not tried yet, bottom gauge is oil pressure and temp.

Little red menu buttons are now black, you can dim them also, total control that you would expect for the money, a motorsport quality instrument.

Or if you want multiple reading then buy an odb Bluetooth and get the torque app, mate you can have upto 15 pages and read everything that the ecu is reading, I have it and it has a theme that does white dials with red indication

I bought one of these today, it's brilliant for what it costs.
