Right first of all im probably gonna be posting questions for mods quite a bit over the next few months just so i get people opinions and experiences with them as there are so many out there that sometimes you just dont know what to go for

So basically im after and induction kit to add a nice sound but not be really expensive, heard people saying the ITG kit was good but thats over £300 so but expensive really so i was just wondering what people would recommend for under about £200? I wanted a car specific direct replacement kit too :)

Also its for a 2006 FR 2.0 TFSI engine

i did see this one but dunno if its any good

Well that in your link is not for a induction kit you use a panel filter and that just replaces the air scoop to the engine cover.
They look good and sound slightly more throaty and gain 3bhp but that's about it and with panel filter it'll cost you over £200

If you want a open induction kit for performance and noise for under £200 you could buy a new speed pflow very good for the money a well made piece of kit but with a open induction kit you get lots of whooshing noises and it sounds like earth badger is in your glovebox most of the time. You either love it or hate it because it can be pretty hard to live with.
oh and with a open I suction kit you can't keep your engine cover in place as that's part of the original air intake so needs removed.

So personnel preference really.
If you go down the route of the Carbon one in your link send me a pm as I may have one you could have cheaper.

neuspeed p-flow is, in my opinion, a quality piece of equipment.
its well built, fits perfectly (even though the maf sensor could be a little more to the left) and makes great induction noise and the "woosh" noise everyone wants to hear.

i have a video somewhere driving on some open land, mate outside filming gives a good sense that the car has some "serious power" in it.

highly reccomend.

I have an open cone Jetex filter that i used to run on my mk1 FR (20vt)

Im considering putting it on my mk2 TFSI...has anybody run an open cone on the standard intake piping?

Yeah tried a pipercross open cone onto the air box of my last fr and it gave very little noise and no noticeable gains.
Remember there's an air filter inside the engine cover which is used to seal it so therefore you be filtering their twice so probably causing more of a restriction than anything.

ooo, i didnt know about that..only just had the mk2 so im getting used to it! I know on the mk1 it made a lovely induction noise but that was in place of the closed box but now you've just mentioned that, maybe it wont..

I don't mate and just searched the web and can't find any fitted pics.
Basically it was a foam cone on a short rubber connecting pipe that fitted straight onto the front of the engine cover and came with a gasket filter non restrictive to seal the engine cover.
K&n do one and pipercross do one approx £100 to buy

For under £200 you can't go wrong with the neuspeed induction kit. Got mine from awesome gti on here.

Took an hour to fit (I'm a novice :D )

Keep an eye on eBay, I got my Neuspeed p-flow for £100

Just needed a quick clean and it was spot on, lots of turbo and induction noise and you won't need a BOV to make the dump noise ;)
